Join Us in Prayer!
We are dependent on God to bring about the good things He has in store. Please pray with us for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done through all that happened at Urbana 03 and beyond.

Here are previous archived prayer lists:

It is our prayer that God will deepen your relationship with him and your ability to pray for others who attended Urbana 03.

United in prayerWould you like to meet God in fresh ways at Urbana 03? There is no better way for you to connect with God and seek His face than in prayer. Ultimately, it is God alone who brings all the pieces of Urbana together, who brings conviction in your heart, and who causes his Kingdom to go forth throughout the earth.

“He who did not withhold his own son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else?” (Rom. 8:32). As we ask and seek in faith, our God will be faithful to provide the things we need. We hope that you will experience the goodness of God through prayer at Urbana 03 and that the convention will help you learn to pray in new ways.

I longed to have a more intimate relationship with God, but how could He love me if no one else did? After a teaching time about receiving the Father’s blessing, two prayer ministers helped me to see the barriers that prevented me from experiencing God’s unconditional love. As they prayed with me, I saw for the first time how deeply my heavenly Father loves and adores me – not because of what I do, but just because I’m me! I felt indescribable joy.

Prayer Ministry Seminars and Prayer Seminars
Want to receive from God in a particular area at Urbana? Come to one of our four prayer ministry seminars. These seminars will offer brief times of worship and teaching, followed by an extended period for healing or listening prayer ministry. While most seminars at the convention are primarily instructional, prayer ministry seminars are experientially focused.

Prayer ministryEach afternoon we will offer a different prayer ministry seminar (two identical 1 ½ hour sessions each afternoon). You can attend seminars on intimacy with God, racial and cultural healing, sexual brokenness and healing, and hearing God. Seventy-five staff workers will be on hand during each session to pray with you individually. Many delegates in the past have found the prayer ministry seminars to be extremely helpful, and each session typically has one or two thousand attendees.

Check out more detailed descriptions of the prayer ministry seminars.

A number of prayer topics will be covered in the normal seminar curriculum as well. Check our seminars page for more information on specific seminars dealing with Guidance and God’s Will or Prayer and Worship.

Fasting at Urbana 03
At Urbana, you will have the opportunity to fast lunch to pray for the world’s poor. A time of worship and prayer will be held in the assembly hall during the lunch hour on Dec. 30. The money that we save from not eating lunch will be given to ministries advancing God’s Kingdom among the poor worldwide.

Prayer Chapels and Prayer Rooms
Urbana can be an overwhelming experience, and Chapel at St. John'staking time to pray on your own throughout the week can be an important way to stay personally connected to God during the week and to take in the information and the convictions that God is giving you. We’ve provided a number of resources at the convention to facilitate your personal prayer.

If you’re looking for a place to pray on your own at the convention, seek out our prayer chapels. Three local churches directly adjoining the campus have graciously opened their doors to us, so that delegates can use their buildings to meditate. We hope you’ll take advantage of these spaces to get time alone with God.

If you’re in the exhibit halls and feel the need to connect with God (maybe you’ve had a significant conversation with a missionary, or you’re just feeling overwhelmed), we’ve set up a number of prayer rooms for you to use. These rooms provide a quiet place to get away just a few steps away from the bustle of the exhibit halls.

Both the prayer rooms and prayer chapels are intended primarily for personal reflection, but each will have staff on hand if you’d like someone else to pray with you.

Intercession at UrbanaIntercession at Urbana 03
Did you know that you’ll be remembered in prayer every minute you’re at Urbana 03? A team of 60 intercessors will be praying around the clock for every aspect of the convention, from the needs of platform speakers to issues happening for individual delegates. The intercessory team will receive updates and prayer concerns throughout the week from people all over the convention, including small group leaders.

""Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.""
