A monthly guide to praying for Urbana 06, InterVarsity's 21st Student Missions Convention.
September 2008

Week of February 5
- We thank all of you who have faithfully prayed with us up to and through Urbana 06!! We appreciate each one of you and rejoice with you in how the Lord answered our prayers at Urbana. Please go to our website and share with us by logging onto different talks, worship times, etc. to see how God was glorified at Urbana.
- Many of us will be leaving our Urbana jobs, and some have already left these jobs. Please pray the Lord would lead each one of us to finish well in our Urbana jobs and to trust Him to show us how and where we are to partner with Him in new jobs.
- Ask the Lord to continue to prompt people to write in their Urbana stories to bless us all!
Week of September 24
- Urbana Registration Team - May God enable this new team to bond quickly, learn their job responsibilities well, and come together as a team that fits and moves under God's power and grace.
- Urbana Unity Choir - Please pray that the Lord would bring together musically gifted friends from St. Louis churches and ministries to join in praises to God during the plenary session on the evening of December 30th.
- Urbana Volunteers - Ask God to bring us volunteers from St. Louis and around the country who will help us to serve all those coming to Urbana seeking to learn more about God and His world.
Week of September 17
- Urbana Team - Please pray for rest and general good health for our teams and their families.
- Urbana - Ask the Lord to move on the hearts of students to register and come to Urbana 06 where we pray they will be met by God and experience his love for His world and its people.
- Urbana Theater Team - May the Lord bless all the team members with health, encouragement, and travelling mercies as they come together to begin rehearsals for "The Journey" which will be presented at Urbana.
Week of September 10
- Urbana Program - Manuscript teachers training retreat Sept. 18-20. Please pray for a spirit of unity as we study the 4 sections of Ephesians we are responsible for at the convention. Pray also that the times of training for teaching manuscript study to a large group will be effective in preparing our staff.
- All Urbana Teams - Ask God that we may experience unity, good communication and quality work among our teams.
- Urbana Infoline - Pray for grace and patience dealing with phone calls and emails from people who have many questions that need answering about Urbana 06.
Week of September 3
- Praise God we have a Transportation Coordinator and assistant. Please pray that as they work together with St. Louis transportation personnel concerning all the transportation needs of Urbana 06, all the details would fall well into place before the convention.
- Urbana Program - Please ask the Lord to give our Worship Team all the gifts they need as they come together in September to tape the pre-Urbana portion of the Urbana 2006 Worship CD.
- Urbana Exhibits - Please pray that exhibit partners from previous Urbanas would register by our September 15th deadline.
Week of February 27
- Pray for the Urbana Theater Team as they finish a script and prepare to invite actors and actresses to perform at Urbana.
- Please pray for our Urbana Prayer Ministry Leadership Team as they meet together in St. Louis from March 2-5 to pray, strategize and join other prayer ministry people from St. Louis and other cities at a Spiritual Healing conference March 4th at St. Louis University.
- Urbana.org Team asks for prayer for wisdom in producing quality articles, book reviews and more.
- Please pray for the Urbana Worship Team as they minister at the Multiethnic Staff Conference this week.
Week of February 20
- Director of Urbana, Jim Tebbe, has a heavy traveling schedule - Pray for appropriate rest, clear communications, and the ability to delegate and supervise well.
- February 20th is the first meeting of the “Urbana Plenary Program Advisory Committee” - Pray that they would know God’s presence and hear his voice.
- Pray for Andrea Menz, new Urbana Registrar, as she learns her job and answers questions for people about registration, which went “online” January 31st.
- Please pray for the Urbana Worship Team as they minister at the LaFe Staff Conference this weekend.
